Diet culture is everywhere, and impacts most of the students that come into our classes. Movement classes are extremely vulnerable, and can be full of triggers for anyone recovering from diet culture, or eating disorders. It's our job as movement teachers to keep learning how we can do better so that the folx in our classes can leave feeling empowered, and grounded, rather than shamed and triggered.  You'll leave this workshop with a deeper understanding of how diet culture can influence the way clients show up in your class, as well as tools to teach in a fat positive/body neutral way.
In this workshop you'll learn about:
Diet culture
Diet Culture's problematic history
How diet culture effects you & your students
Internal Anti-Fat Bias
How to recognize how anti-fat bias affects your teaching
Teaching in a more weight-inclusive way
Plus you'll get:

"This training is absolutely crucial—not just for movement teachers, but for all coaches. You’ll learn the complexities of what diet culture is + the myriad insidious ways it may be affecting your students + clients—whether your work explicitly addresses things like movement or body image. Somehow Billie manages to break this tangled, deeply-rooted beast down into clear, comprehensible components—so you know the depth + breadth of what you’re working against + toward."

"There should be a lot more anti-diet work in yoga spaces, but there just isn't quite yet. Billie is forging an important path, and by offering their skillsets to the yoga community they're helping make a big difference! There is so much need in the world for healing and hard work, and by dismantling anti-fat bias (our own and the ones we swim in) we can get down to serious forms of self- and planet-care. Thank you Billie! "

Inclusivity work is paramount to providing safer spaces. In order to put action behind our words, we have to keep learning about how oppression affects those around us. These workshops can be taught virtually, or in person if you live in Southern Ontario. (subject to change)
Review from The Studio PEC:
"Today, we had the pleasure of hosting anti‑diet yoga + fitness coach @movewithbillie—who’s busy tossing diet culture, spiritual bypassing, and exclusive narratives into the trash. In her powerful anti‑diet culture workshop, Billie unpacked how diet narratives can show up in our cueing, our community, and our own minds, and gifted us tools to foster more compassionate spaces.
To our fellow movement teachers and studio owners: we can’t recommend Billie’s session enough. If you’re ready to disrupt exclusionary norms and deepen your impact, Billie’s session is essential. Your community will thank you. 💚"
